My kids received this as a gift they are 3 and 5 and they play with it every night. They doodle with it and erase with the eraser provided and use paper for the pencils. The battery was just fine when placed in and the light and board are working great. Not sure what the other person was thinking, but it is plastic so just be careful with it. My 3 yr old can even draw and erase with it, the colors are vibrant and its a great way to draw before bed.
